Similar SARS Virus Found in Saudi Arabia

SARS - The virus that attacks the respiratory tract similar to the SARS virus found in Saudi Arabia and has killed one person. Another victim of a man from Qatar now have serious treatment at a hospital in London, England.

Virus identified a type of coronavirus family of viruses from the usual flu triggers, including SARS, acute respiratory syndrome has caused 800 deaths, mostly in Asia, in 2003.

Men from Qatar has previously been reported recently traveled to Saudi Arabia during Ramadan. She is currently being treated in London after suffering kidney failure.



WHO explains, the type of guy Qatar virus was identical to viruses from Saudi Arabian men who died. The World Health Organization is still investigating the origin and spread of the virus is not necessary to declare a warning (travel warning).

The situation has received high attention from WHO because October is the start of the pilgrimage season that will bring millions of people from around the world to Saudi Arabia.

Health officials claimed not to know whether the virus will spread widely as SARS or not. SARS, which was first transmitted from cats to humans in China, spread to Hong Kong and then spread to 30 countries.

"The virus in Saudi Arabia is still very early. At this time we only found two cases of sporadic and a lot of unknowns," said Gregory Hartl, the WHO spokesman.
