Sexual intercourse with a partner should provide sexual pleasure and intimacy creation. But it turned out to be about 1 in 3 women even feel depressed, melancholy and restlessness after sex.

This was revealed in a survey of 200 women in Australia. Approximately 33 percent of the respondents said they had felt depressed after sex. By experts that feeling called 'post-sex blues' or feeling glum after sex.

"Under normal circumstances, after having sex a person will feel comfortable, happy and also psychological and physical relaxation. But apparently there are some women who just feel melancholy, anxiety, crying and anxiety," says lead researcher Robert Schweitzer of the Queensland Institute of Technology.

The survey results were surprising because it contradicts the assumption many people would be sexual activity as a fun activity and strengthen the emotional connection with your partner.

Schweitzer said it is not aware of what triggers the feeling glum after sex. "The cause is usually unknown. There was a lady who said she felt more melancholy after sex, but it has nothing to do with his feelings to her partner," he said.

There are several things that can cause guilt, shame, and not interested in a sexual relationship, such as the trauma of sexual abuse in the past. However, the respondents in the survey were generally unaware of where it comes from a sense of melancholy and depression.

To uncover the trigger feelings Schweitzer is doing further research. "Perhaps there is a biological predisposition of influence," he said.
