Recent studies indicate the experts, using iPad or watching TV at night can trigger depression risk. Exposure to strong light at night when the body is supposed to rest it can influence behavior and increase the risk of stress on a person.

Scientists from John Hopkins University in the U.S. found that exposure to strong light at night can disrupt the body's hormonal balance. Experiments on mice in laboratories showed that this animal stress levels soaring as they are regularly exposed to light at night.

Rodent is losing interest in doing fun activities and tend to become lazy to explore new objects in the cage. Levels of the hormone cortisol mice also increased due to the chronic exposure to light.

Samer Hattar, professor of biology from Johns Hopkins University who initiated the study found, the strong light intensity also resulted in changes to specific cells in mice. These cells are called intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion. This effect causes changes in the brain that regulate mood, memory and learning.

Although only limited research on laboratory mice, Hattar confirmed human Prof. especially men can also experience the same thing. Therefore, this study may be a lesson.

"I'm not saying that we should dwell in dark conditions at night. Yet I suggested we should use fewer bulbs with low intensintas. Basically, the use of lighting if you really need it," said Hattar who published his research in journals Nature.

Meanwhile, a spokesman of the John Hopkins University adds: "When a person is often working late into the night, their risk of developing depression and learning difficulties, and not just because of lack of sleep. Causes is exposure to bright light at night from lights, computers and even the iPad, "he said.
